A message from the 2012-2013 Campaign Chair
It is with great honor that I serve as United Way of Greater Union County’s 2012-13 Campaign Chair. During my volunteer tenure last year, I realized how critical making a long-term commitment is to the movement to strengthen our community. I am proud to be the leader again for this upcoming year and will continue to do my part to help change lives and make a difference in Greater Union County.
Thanks to the continued help of our community supporters, last year we raised more than $4.2 million dollars for our Community Fund. I commend United Way volunteers and donors on a doing their jobs so well! Most importantly, I wish to thank the thousands of donors, companies, private foundations, community partners, and government entities committed to helping improve the conditions in Union County, North Plainfield and South Plainfield.
Throughout the year, the Campaign Cabinet will be addressing as many business and individuals as possible to tell the story of the United Way and the positive impact that it has on the quality of life in Union County. Our campaign goal for 2012-13 is $4.4 million. The annual campaign provides funding to over 62 partner agencies throughout Union County that link community members in need with the proper resources and networks they need to help them lead self sufficient lives.
While past campaigns have seen success, we are looking to bring this year’s campaign to new heights. Let’s outdo ourselves for our neighbors in need and invest in change for our community. We all have a stake in creating a community that offers a good quality of life for everyone--it takes all of us working together to help make that happen.
As we kick-off our new campaign, I encourage your support. We are asking our community to give 110% to United Way of Greater Union County’s annual campaign. If everyone contributed 10% more, or considered giving for the first time, United Way can continue to with their mission of strengthening families and communities.
