African American Leadership Initiative (AALI)

United Way's African American Leadership Initiative (AALI) is a network of dedicated African-American leaders who marshal their resources to address the most pressing issues in the African-American community. AALI’s mission is to mobilize the caring power of the African-American community to improve African-American lives in Union County.

AALI's GOALS

  • Encourage greater African-American participation in community and civic affairs
  • Increase awareness of local African-American leaders and opportunities to better serve the community through
  • networking events
  • Improve police relations within the community
  • Address educational challenges facing African Americans
  • Provide new parent training opportunities, focusing on young parents
  • Promote the availability/access of Geriatric services
