Hispanic Leadership Advisory Council (HLAC)
The Hispanic Leadership Advisory Council (HLAC) is focused on ensuring that members of the Hispanic community have full access to United Way's network of programs and services as well as assessing and addressing critical health and human service needs.
In October 2010, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, United Way of Greater Union County hosted a kick off event, "Creating New Partnerships for the Future of Latinos in Union County." Keynote speaker for the evening was Luis Diaz, Esq., President & CEO of United States Hispanic Advocacy Association (USHAA). Proceeds from the event went to support the establishment of the Elizabeth Hispanic Family Support Center. Click here to read about the 2010 event.
In May 2011, HLAC teamed up with Hispanics Inspiring Student Performance and Achievement (HISPA) and Kean University to create a unique networking opportunity for the Hispanic Community. Click here to read about the 2011 event.
