| Greetings! |
|
Welcome to the 1st issue of the United Way of Greater Union County Family Success Center Newsletter! On an ongoing basis, this newsletter will highlight some of the wonderful work of United Way of Greater Union County's Family Success Centers, which are unique public-private partnership designed to maximize and leverage all the available resources within Union County on behalf of children and families. United Way of Greater Union County, in partnership with the Union County Department of Human Services, provides oversight, planning, implementation and support of an integrated local system of prevention, family support and early intervention (Family Success Centers).
These centers are community based, family-centered neighborhood gathering places where any community resident can go for family support, information and services.
United Way is working to establish Family Success Centers throughout Union County. We are currently located in: Elizabeth, Linden, Plainfield, and Roselle.
What follows is a small sampling of some of the ways that The Roselle Family Success Center is empowering Roselle families.
We hope you find the newsletter to be informative and inspiring. If you know of any Union County families who can be assisted by a Family Success Center, please encourage them to use the contact information provided.

Family Fun Night

|
The Roselle Family Success Center (RFSC) provides weekly family engagment programs. The most recent family fun night was a great success! A parent advisory board member came out to help coordinate the evenings events which included board game fun for parents and children as well as a volunteer project. RFSC received a food donation from one of United Way's corporate partners, the parents sorted through the items and made individual bags while the children played. Some parents were able to leave with bags of food for their families and the remainder were left at the center to be donated to a Thanksgiving basket event in the borough. Time for Tots

|
|
On the second Saturday of every month between 10am - 12pm, the RFSC offers the Time for Tots program for parents and toddlers. The program supports the children's social, emotional, physical, and intellecticual growth. Children and parents are encouraged to participate in a variety of interactive activities from arts & crafts, blocks & puzzles, creative play, sing-a-alongs, and games.
The program is meant to influence young minds, increase parental activity, and help mold the ability for children to learn. Click here to view pictures from the most recent Time for Tots session.
