Making Holiday Wishes Come True for over 600 Children

Employees at GENEWIZ LLC collected toys for children in Union County, North Plainfield and South Plainfield

The Season of Caring campaign kicked off on November 3, and this holiday season 603 children and their families from Union County, North and South Plainfield, will feel the joy that comes from giving. UWGUC couldn’t be more grateful for all the donations received from corporations, local businesses and their employees, along with individuals who cared enough to make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable populations.

The children are selected by the community partners that work directly with their families, and that’s when the Season of Caring gears up to make the holiday season a joyous occasion for all. UWGUC asks participants to donate toys or food cards, which are then matched up with a specific family.

“We owe the success of this initiative to our partners - corporations, local businesses and residents of Union County, and North and South Plainfield,” said James W. Horne, CEO/President UWGUC.  “We are so pleased this year with the generosity of the community from funds to food and toys.  This will mean so much to those families who also deserve to feel happiness and joy during this time of the year.  And we can all agree that every child deserves a gift during the holidays.”

Indeed, the children on the list will receive multiple gifts thanks to companies such as: GENEWIZ LLC, Linde North America, Bed Bath & Beyond, Neiman Marcus, UPS, Hub International, Eaton, Lerner David, Total Lubricants, Nustar, Roselle Savings Bank, Santander Bank, Macy’s (South Plainfield location), Infineum, Banana Republic (Westfield), Provident Bank and McKinsey & Company, have all contributed generously. UWGUC thanks you for participating in this year’s Season of Caring Initiative and look forward to collaborating in the New Year.
