A Vision Becomes a Reality: The Hillside Family Success Center’s Grand Opening

April 21, 2015 12 Noon – 2 PM ~ HILLSIDE, NJ - United Way of Greater Union County and the Township of Hillside, New Jersey is proud to announce the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Hillside Family Success Center.  The community of Hillside and non-residents, alike, are invited to attend this festive occasion on April 21st, at 12 noon - 2pm and participate in the fanfare of a new day.  The Center is located at 1100 Woodruff Ave., Hillside, NJ 07205.

The Center’s focus and goal is to serve families and by doing so it will create a stronger Hillside community.  Certainly, with all that the Hillside Family Success Center has to offer, prosperity for Hillside residents is no longer a notion, but rather, a reality.  United Way of Greater Union County has been on the forefront by making sure the services provided are tailor-made to the specific needs of Hillside families. 

Those in attendance at the ribbon-cutting ceremony will include: Mayor Angela Garretson of Hillside and the CEO of United Way of Greater Union County, James W. Horne, Jr. The Hillside Family Success Center is eager to embark on their mission to serve and strengthen families of Hillside, and is looking forward to introducing the facility to the residents of the community.

The Hillside Family Success Center will be a progressive hub offering a menu of services to benefit families and individuals with the following:

Advocacy for Family Services
Adult Reading Literacy Workshops
Assistance with applications for NJ Family Care, Food Stamp and other services
Computer Training
Employment Assistance Workshops
Energy Assistance
Family Fun Night
Health (Confidential Testing / Pharmacy Discount Cards)
Information and Referral Services
Life Skills Training (Nutrition, Budgeting, etc.)
Parent-Child Activities
Parent Education Support
Parent /Youth Advisory Council
Pregnancy/HIV Discreet Testing
Referrals
Self-Help
Strengthening Families
Teen /Youth Mentoring
Teen Parent Support
Violence Prevention
