Union, New Jersey ~ United Way of Greater Union County benefitted from a fundraiser sponsored by Village Super Markets in which employees and several of its vendors were invited to set-up food stations during its soft opening.
More commonly known as ShopRite, Village Super Market, Inc. owns and operates the stores.  In late April, Village Super Market, Inc.  held a “soft” grand opening and a fundraiser at its newest ShopRite store located on Route 22 West in Union, New Jersey.

There were over 100 guests who enjoyed a sampling of tasty food stations that were exhibited throughout the store. Guests were asked to donate $5 dollars or more upon entry as a way to easily make contributions while enjoying themselves.  As a result Village Super Market raised over $500 for United Way of Greater Union County, making this a great start to a hopefully long-standing partnership.

“It is always great to see the ingenuity of our partners, who come up with some innovative ways to get people involved in our work.  I thank Village Supermarkets for selecting us as the beneficiary of the event,” states James W. Horne, Jr. President/CEO, United Way of Greater Union County.
