Campaign Results Show Increased Participation in Support of Strengthening Families in Union County
During the past few months, many United Way of Greater Union County (UWGUC) corporate supporters conducted their workplace campaigns. As an organization striving to strengthen families in the community, it is critical to gain the support of companies that do business, along with their employees who live, work and play in Union County.  During workplace campaigns, volunteers and donors come together to host a variety of fun activities to encourage participation and motivate employees to support UWGUC.

C. R. Bard, Inc. held their highly successful Workplace Campaign as well as silent and live auctions and other fundraisers to raise donations and employee awareness of UWGUC. Bard employees donated over $186,000, which was matched by the C. R. Bard Foundation for a total donation of $372,000 and hit a record high of 85% employee participation!
Bard’s campaign manager, Linda Hrevnack, stated, “Bard was very committed to making this one of our best years ever.  Bard’s mission is to advance lives and the delivery of healthcare.  One of our core values is service, which goes hand-in-hand with employee volunteer programs.  We encourage our employees to help meet the needs of our local communities through financial donations and volunteer hours which helps to inspire hope for a better tomorrow.  We are pleased to partner with United Way as well as other nonprofits to achieve this mission.”

As a longtime UWGUC supporter, Bard conducts several activities throughout the year including denim days, their BBQ dunk tank and games fundraiser, Stuff the Bus School Supplies Drive, and toy and food drives. All of these programs support United Way’s mission to “Change the Odds’ for children and their families through out Union County, and North and South Plainfield.
