Graduation Event for Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP)

The Nurse-Family Partnership of Hudson and Union Counties is an evidence-based home visitation program locally administered by the Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey (The Partnership).   United Way of Greater Union County and The Partnership have been linked since 2012, which resulted in a pro-active initiative that identifies young at-risk first-time moms and connects them to pre-natal care. This holiday season, the NFP brought cheer to program participants with two inspiring graduation events, featuring fitness and nutrition activities.

The Union County event took place on December 6, 2014 at the Bayway Family Success Center in Elizabeth. Seven recent graduates were honored and recognized for completing the NFP program. The NFP program begins during pregnancy and continues until the child’s second birthday. All participating families received gifts generously provided by United Way’s Season of Caring.

Hudson County clients celebrated on December 11, 2014 at Curries Woods Community Center in Jersey City. Four recent graduates and their 2-year olds were honored. At both events, guests enjoyed Zumba fitness and education.  Nurse home visitors presented an interactive game on the sugar content of various beverages, and presented raffle winners with prizes. Congratulations to the NFP Hudson/Union team for their 2014 wonderful accomplishments.
