When we Live United we don’t just change lives. We change what’s possible.

Reconnections is a prisoner Re-Entry initiative developed through a partnership between United Way of Greater Union County, Union County Department of Human Services, Union County College and the Nicholson Foundation.

Reconnections helps formerly incarcerated individuals gain access to services to help them develop meaningful, productive skills that they can use to make their lives better and improve their community. The project provides essential support services to address an individual's immediate needs to ensure his or her successful re-intergration to the community. The goal of the program is to lead these individuals to self-sufficiency and to reduce the recidivism rate in Union County. Some of the services provided include:

  • Orientation and Assessment

  • Case Management

  • Education

  • Employment Assistance

  • Mentoring Support

  • Treatment for Drug Abuse

  • Mental Health Counseling

  • Community Resource Assistance
