Upcoming Workshops

Apart of the Focus on Families initiative, Hillside’s Family Success Center, located at 1100 Woodruff Ave, is hosting a “Sista for Sista” workshop for young women between the ages of 18-29 years old at no charge. These young women will have the opportunity to come together and discuss topics that focus on the development of strong self-esteem, confidence, and much more. Some of the topics include love and respect for self, discussion on safe sex and sexually transmitted diseases, and also effective communication and negotiation skills. This five-week workshop started on October 7th with 15 girls attending. These young women will meet every Wednesday for an hour and half sessions. Not only are these workshops great for young women to communicate but there are also incentives in being apart of the workshops as the young women are offered food and refreshments at each workshop plus every participant will receive a $75 gift card upon completion of the workshops. For more information on this workshop, please contact Tahira Chambers at Tahira.chambers@uwguc.org.
