United Way of Greater Union County hosts Women & Wine Event

United Way of Greater Union County and Women United live up to their names and unite for their FIRST charitable in-person event to boost awareness for women and child health issues.

On June 8, 2022, UWGUC’S women’s leadership council- Women United will be at Rosie’s Wine Bar in Garwood to discuss the important matters of the day and how we can help to change women's and children’s lives. Among limitless wine, appetizers, and the good company of like-minded, brilliant changemakers, experience a true philanthropic event that will live on in happy memory. Meet some of the women directly impacting change in women’s lives across the board: in their homes, their families, and their careers. This exclusive event is a unique opportunity to learn more about the members and how you can get involved and truly make lasting change in your community.

There are hundreds of services the organizations offer to support income equality, family planning, maternal health post-pregnancy, and children and infant health. Women United and United Way of Greater Union County fight daily to see the benefits of their efforts paid off in the lives of women and children who don’t have the necessary resources to survive and thrive.

The money raised at this event will go towards these same programs that have changed lives and continue to shift women’s circumstances such as the Nurse Family Partnership. In 2020 alone, United Way of Greater Union County fed over 3500 families and provided rental assistance for 750 families. They’ve served over 51,000 meals and provided over 7,600 shelter nights. The organizations also understand the importance of financial wellness and self-sufficiency. That’s why they’ve reached over 400 families with employment assistance and 251 families with basic life skill teaching.

This team of female philanthropists realizes that the money they make goes towards programs that directly benefit the lives of women, children, and families. By offering hundreds of people opportunities to learn, to work, and to feel healthy again, United Way and Women United are grateful to keep going and raising money for the families who still need assistance. That’s why they’re so excited to raise money at this event where women can come together to network, learn more about meaningful living, and give back what they can.
