Mother of two receives the necessary support thanks to our family success center

Recently separated from her husband of 15 years, Mrs. Martin had been a stay at home mother of two young children, including one with special needs. For the first time, she had to take care of the household bills and had no clue where to begin. In jeopardy of having her utilities shut off, Mrs. Martin was referred to one of our family success centers where she was able to receive Flexible (FLEX) Funds through the Family Support & Prevention Program.

What is Family Support and Prevention (FSP)?

FSP is a grant program that provides support and prevention services that promote health and stability managed under three components: outreach and family engagement, parent/caregiver empowerment and Flex Funds to assist vulnerable families with children facing crisis.

Because of the services that were available through Flex Funds, Mrs. Martin can breathe a little sigh of relief.  "It has been amazing to watch and assist this family during this transformation," said the family success center coordinator.  "She has regained her confidence."  Mrs. Martin now attends several family success center workshops and have been working on a family plan that includes resources in resume writing and employment opportunities.
