Mom With 2 Children Overcomes Hardships
Jade is a mother of two sons, Teronimo age 13, and Manuel age 8, the family resides in Linden. We’ve come to know about Jade through our forum in which we help new moms with any necessities. Jade was kind enough to share her story with UWGUC, she and her sons have been refugees within the country for three years. Through the Hillside Family Success Center, a family worker successfully secured stable housing for Jade and her family through our partnership with the Elizabeth Coalition. Additionally, a family worker referred Jade to NJ Medical Care where she secured health insurance for herself. This was important to Jade, as she recently had brain surgery that has left side effects which require continued medical care. Jade also regularly attends our virtual Leadership Workshops which provided Jade with food gift cards for her participation. Jade has shared how appreciative she is of the Hillside Family Success Center and is glad she has somewhere to turn to for help when needed. *Name and image kept confidential
