Wells Fargo Hosts Financial Literacy Workshops for New Jersey Youth Corps
New Jersey Youth Corps of Union County's mission is to restore and preserve the dignity of young adults who have been underserved and enhance their value to society by providing a comprehensive program of academic instruction and community service that form a solid foundation upon which to build a brighter future.
The second cohort of students experiences a series of workshops through our Corporate Partner, Wells Fargo. Students learned about banking, credit, financing a car, and investing as part of their life skills development. Tomas Porturas, VP/Sr. Community Relations Consultant of Wells Fargo, came to the program located in Roselle and thought the youth valuable lessons regarding their finances.
As Tomas from Wells Fargo said "We know that residents across Union County today face many complex issues and we believe we can use our business expertise and financial resources to create solutions that make a measurable difference in young people's lives. Through our partnership with the United Way of Greater Union County, we are proud to host these important financial workshops and play a role in offering the next generation build effective money habits."
Thank you to Tomas, and Wells Fargo, for being a valuable partner, resource, and educator to the students of NJYC.
